After hearing from various stakeholders, the Maryland Racing Commission permitted Laurel Park to resume racing this Thursday.
In a spirited meeting Tuesday, the Maryland Racing Commission indicated that it intends to take a more assertive role on the Laurel Park track surface.
The Maryland Racing Commission Oct. 28 awarded 168 racing dates for 2022 to the Md. Jockey Club, with Pimlico set to host meets in both May and August.
Horsemen will be able resume training at Laurel Park August 10, they learned in a community meeting Thursday, ending a nearly four-month shutdown.
