The closure of Laurel Park because of the track surface has been a trial for many. But avoiding it in future isn’t just a matter of rebuilding the track.
With complications in the project to redo the dirt course at Laurel Park, racing is now expected to continue at Pimlico until August 27 Timonium meet.
Horsemen will be forced to vacate Laurel Park following the Preakness, horsemen learned Friday, and may not be allowed back until July.
