RACE 1

1-3-2-5

In the Saturday night opener, an interesting, two-turn maiden $12,500 claiming event, #1 Stopwatchsonny (3-1) was solid fourth in local debut for trainer Ronney Brown and gets favorable rail draw for possible diploma. #3 Skyfly (3-5) was good second at Timonium in belated seasonal debut last weekend for trainer Anthony Farrior and could be among the short-priced favorites on the card. #2 Linda’s Taj (6-1) makes career debut for trainer Linda Dohlinger-Stehr off a series of good workouts and certainly merits respect at first asking. #5 Fort Zanna (8-1) exits maiden special weight event and returns to spot where she has been competitive.

RACE 2

6-1-4-3

In this one-turn claiming dash for fillies and mares to cap the early daily double, #6 Lady Licious (9-5) gets favorable outside draw for owner-trainer Lela Hanagan and nod to earn second straight tally. #1 Martha’s Banner (2-1) has been second three times in four winless starts this year for trainer Kevin Joy and could finally garner elusive triumph here. #4 Not for Gold (4-1) has been consistent sort all season for trainer Keith Brown and could forge mild upset here. #3 Missing My Point (6-1) returns following six-month respite for owner-trainer Crystal Pickett and will likely need a race to reach full potential.

RACE 3

1-5-7-8

In the first half of a split maiden special weight event for state-bred two-year-olds, #1 Pinnacle Reef (5-2) rallied for third as favorite in debut after being bumped soundly in the paddock by a foe and gets genuine chance to atone here for trainer Jeff Runco. #5 Juba’s Notion (7-5) has been second twice in each of first two career starts and will be solid choice here to end bridesmaid status for owner-trainer John A. Casey. #7 Just a Flirt (8-1) has been fourth in each of first two career outings for owner-breeder-trainer John McKee and could improve on those efforts here. #8 De’s Castle (6-1) makes career debut for trainer James W. Casey and should be a factor with favorable outside draw.

RACE 4

7-5-4-2

In the second half of split maiden special weight event for state-bred two-year-olds, #7 Pink Dinghy (5-2) makes career debut for trainer Javier Contreras off a series of improving works and gets the nod for mild upset with favorable outside draw. #5 Lord of Cork (7-5) was solid second last out in improved effort over career debut and looms the solid choice here for trainer James W. Casey. #4 Strollinginthewind (3-1) was solid third last out following dull debut effort and gives trainer James W. Casey chance to run one-two in this spot. #2 Windsor’s Star (6-1) makes career debut off a series of modest breezes for trainer John A. Casey but could forge mild surprise here.

RACE 5

1-4-3-2

In this two-turn event for $5,000 claiming fillies and mares, #1 Dustwhirl Wonder (3-1) gets coveted rail draw for trainer Anthony Farrior and appears set for mild upset here. #4 Centerfold Angel (9-5) won last out off three-month break and could repeat as the tepid choice here for trainer Ronney Brown. #3 Marketability (5-2) was solid second last out and won three back and gives Brown a chance to run one-two here. #2 Devilish Beauty (10-1) has hit the board in six of eight tries this year and could complete several gimmicks at a generous price.

RACE 6

7-5-4-8

In this one-turn maiden special weight dash for state-breds, #7 Jefferson Security (6-1) was good second in career debut for trainer Tim Grams and gets the nod to graduate here at a decent price. #5 Rough Start (3-1) was solid second in career debut one year ago and makes belatedly seasonal debut here for trainer Chris Keller. #4 Unison (2-1) has been second and third in each of first two outings for trainer Larry Curtis and merits respect in this spot. #8 It’s Only Money (10-1) makes career debut for trainer Crystal Pickett and will be seeking to emulate former runner of the same name who won the inaugural Charles Town Dash in 1999.

  • A few minutes with: Jack Fisher
Jack Fisher is a Hall of Famer and the winningest trainer in American steeplechasing — but maybe not someone you know much about.

RACE 7

8-1-4-2

.In this competitive, one-turn allowance dash for fillies and mares, #8 Minnetonka (6-1) gets favorable outside draw and merits prime upset chance. #1 Deemed Essential (8-5) looms the logical favorite after besting claiming foes last out and could overcome often tricky rail draw for trainer Ronney Brown. #4 Thunder Punch (5-1) was solid second against similar last out for trainer Kevin Joy and merits respect here. #2 One Smart Cookie (3-1) will be among the early pace presence and could be the one they have to chase down in the final furlong.

RACE 8

1-2-5-6

In the Saturday night finale, a two-turn event for maiden $5,000 claimers, #1 Enjoy Summer (3-5) finally looks poised to garner her diploma at a short price for trainer Kevin Joy. #2 Shesahumblehustler (9-2) may provide the only logical upset choice if she can stay close to railbound favorite here for trainer Tim Shanley. #5 Bunny Princess (8-1) has displayed a fondness for finishing third throughout her career. #6 Supersnake (6-1) makes third start over the local strip since arriving from Florida and cannot be entriely overlooked here.
