RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 67-6-3-1The likely post-time favorite in this starter allowance is #3 Bearakontie (6-5), who’s won five of six, beating up on similar at Penn National while logging five consecutive main-track victories and posting big Beyer figs for this group. All that said, we’re going to take a swing against her; she’s been off since October, is showing only three works in the interim, and will be racing at CT for the first time. If she fires her best shot, she probably wins here, but all of those factors suggest she may not be at her very best, which makes her more vulnerable than 6-5 suggests… #7 Jessica (5-2) gets the nod for us. She’s another on a heater, having won five straight for trainer Anthony Farrior while ascending the class ladder; the last two came against these sorts. She’s speedy but doesn’t have to have the lead, and so she figures either to lead or sit right off Bearakontie in the early going… #6 Mary’s Jewel (12-1) figures to be running late, and if the pace heats up, she might be one to pick up the pieces…. #1 Sherwood Lady (20-1) will need to find her best form to contend for top honors…
Race 75-7-4-2Top choice #5 River Rewards Rvf (4-1) looks to have been an astute claim by trainer Ronney Brown. He claimed her out of her winning debut, and he immediately jumped her up into allowance company, where she ran a good second. The top two to run back from that race won their follow-ups, one in allowance company… Morning line fave #7 Someday Is Today (1-1) certainly looked like a good thing in winning off by six lengths in her local bow last out. But we’re not sure how much she beat — no other runner had ever recorded a Beyer above 46 prior — and that was all the way back in May. She hasn’t raced since, and that’s a cause for concern, especially when contemplating short odds. Trainer Jerry O’Dwyer is 2-for-21 off similar layoffs… #4 Love to Zoom (5-1) hasn’t been great in her last couple, but she has a couple of earlier tries that would fit here… #2 How Is She (15-1) likewise has a couple of tries that would contend…

    6th.I do not fear”Bearakontie”either
and think “Jessica”is also due to tail off.
    “Alpine Moon”will probably swoon but
    I pause before”Morality Clause”who
    could”Unexpectedly”come alive.

7th.”Someday is NOT Today”for me and I can see
that Brown wants to take this down but”Power Sonde”
can flower off the bench.Perhaps even”Long Legs Louise:aims to please.

    8th.”Math Man Marco”doesn’t add up to”Noballstwostrikes”and
    even”Windsors Tail”could nail him.

6th.We should have shown more respect for Mr Johnston.

7th.My handicapping here was as sloppy as the track which
I did not take into account-I may be brain dead, but
I added a bonus race hopefully we’ll get our money back

8th.I thought “Math Man Marco”was gonna be the chalko,
and “Windsors Tail”a decent price,in first but surely coming down.
“No balls was named well-twostrikes”no excuse clear sail up the rail.
