From a Delaware Park release

W. Mike Anderson’s Silent Citizen notched his first career stake victory in the $50,000 Stanton Stakes at Delaware Park today. The Stanton is the local prep for the $200,000 Grade III Kent Stakes to be run on July 14th.

With Albin Jimenez aboard, the 3-year-old son of Hat Trick won by a 1 1/4-lengths and returned $14.80. The 8-to-5 favorite in the field of six, Up the Ante with Trevor McCarthy, finished second. It was 1 ¼-lengths farther back to Archaggelos with Mario Pino, in third. Silent Citizen completed the mile and a sixteenth in 1:44.68 over a firm turf course.

The Kentucky-bred conditioned by Efren Loza, Jr raised his career record to four wins from six starts with earnings of $67,180. Previously, the son of Hat Trick had two wins from four starts at Tampa Bay Downs.

“Today was a new test for him and he passed,” said winning trainer Efren Loza, Jr. “He had done well in his previous races, but they were starter-type races at Tampa. He has been training really well, so we decided to give him a try in this stake and he performed very well. Before we entered in this race, we had the Kent Stakes in mind and we will more than likely come back with him in that race.”
