In our Big Move of the Week, we feature one horse each week who impressed and might warrant a spot on your watch list.  For the week ending February 1, that horse is maiden breaker Girls Got Rhythum.

• Last race: Making her career debut, three-year-old filly Girls Got Rhythum bided her time just behind the leaders into the turn before making a sudden move between horses to the lead.  After a brief battle, she dispensed with Flame of My Heart and went on to win by four lengths in a running time of 1:11.79 for six furlongs, the last sixteenth under a moderate hand ride from jockey Eric Camacho.  It was an impressive move to the lead, and she finished up nicely for the win.
• How fast?: It’s hard to know what she beat exactly; the field was merely a $40,000 maiden claimer, the second-place finisher also was making her debut, and the third place finisher, Friesan Flyer, had been thrashed in her debut, in the Maryland Juvenile Filly Championship while earning a Beyer figure of just 39.  On the other hand, Girls Got Rhythum’s running time of 1:11.79 for six furlongs was a full second faster than a similar level of three-year-old boys managed it in the next race and within a second of the time recorded by three-year-old allowance runners later on the card — all of which suggests that she was really running.
• Breeding and auction history: Girls Got Rhythum is by Zensational out of the winning Vicar mare Wanda’s Secret.  She was bred in Kentucky by Kerrie Cahill & Zensational Syndicate.  She was purchased by Konrad Wayson out of Marshal Silverman’s consignment at the Fasig Tipton Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale of 2014, bringing a top bid of $13,000.
• Connections: Girls Got Rhythum is trained by Jerry Robb for owners Konrad Wayson and Wade Meadows.  She was ridden in her debut by Eric Camacho.
• Video: When the video below begins, Girls Got Rhythum is in third place down on the rail and a couple of lengths behind the leaders.  She makes a quick move between horses to the lead.
