• Maryland-bred Combat Diver is entered in Saturday’s Grade 3, $400,000 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct.  The race is worth 85 points towards the Kentucky Derby (50 to the winner).  The Gary Contessa trainee was second a nose to Savvy Street in the Miracle Wood at Laurel most recently, and Sheldon Russell will ride.
• West Virginia-bred Kiss the Road is scheduled to make his career debut Saturday at Gulfstream Park in a maiden special weight sprint.  Jose Valdivia is the named rider.
• Two recent workers: River Date breezed four furlongs in 50 4/5 seconds at Palm Meadows on Wednesday, 14th of 21 at the distance; and Jackson P went four furlongs in 50 seconds at Parx Racing on Tuesday, 10th best of 15.
