As long as Delaware Park, Monmouth, Laurel, Colonial, Parx, Belmont…etc are all running at the same time….you have to be dreaming….no chance!

Look at the handles from last Saturday. Tampa Bay and Charles Town out handled Laurels race card easily. Laurel purses much higher and yet smaller handle. Throwing $ at problem is not always the solution.

Hell, even Mahoning Valley’s Thursday card outhandled LRL Saturday. Stronachs threw us into virtual disrepair until they couldn’t anymore (facility conditions, downgraded stakes, quality of program vs. heavy hitters like Colonial/”Churchill East” and Delaware), and now people are expecting better?

Technically true but Mahoning Valley had stake races on the 19th. A week prior on the 12th; Mahoning Valley’s handle was a tad below $900,000. That’s a more typical Thursday for them. But still not good when you’re comparing anything to Ohio tracks.

food trucks, yeah that’ll be the cure, also sports betting was always part of the plan at Monmouth, you think a sports book at pimlico will matter, when everyone can sports bet on their phone, even if the existing casinos “allow” a book at pimlico.
