5. Yo Nessroundonkern	Huge effort to win going away in first try in Jones barn; may get another favorable pace scenario to repeat
7. Baltasar	Drops to lowest level
9. Bright Forecast	In good form at this level; looks for stalk-and-pounce trip

RACE 2

4. Nohai	Turf didn’t work and race before that entailed a disastrous trip; debut wasn’t awful and probably wins in this spot
1. Princess Kaiulani	Debut runner had decent work 9/14
5. Emma Bella Max	Trainer Ashby to send out a pair, and Astudillo, who rode the other last time, lands on this firster instead; sire’s 0-for-40 record with 2yo advises caution

RACE 3

6. Mr Mac Quhae	Caught a tough group in latest when third, snapping three-race win streak; may get a lively pace to run at
1. King of Hollywood	Formful sort switches barns; may be controlling speed but may get pressed from outside rivals
5. Doin’ittherightway	Big effort in latest when involved in lengthy duel before pulling away; pace rival returned to win next out

RACING NOTES

Jockey Carol Cedeno had a riding hat trick Saturday. She swept the early double with 1-9 No Need to Ask for trainer Lynn Ashby and Kitty’s Pretty ($5.40) for Ned Allard and completed the triple with River Dog ($6.60) for Kelly Breen. All three were in dirt sprints, and in each, the winner was never worse than second at any call.
Speaking of which, the winner in all six dirt races — all sprints — was in front by the pace call. Speed bias? Maybe, but it’s also worth noting that River Dog was the longest price of the group at just over 2-1.

2. Wemby	Trainer Sepulveda 32% second off the claim; last three are all pretty good, with middle of those better than it looks after strong gallop-out
