Picks and analysis for this evening’s card from Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races:

RACE 1

5. Grand Rozzo	Makes second start off the bench and gelded since last; first time on the dirt versus claiming company
4. Aspiring Comedian	Class relief a plus; lack of early speed a concern in sprint races, but this heat looks light on speed anyway
7. Clever Tiger	Lasix on for season bow; closed season with a good effort, rallying after being checked to last to grab third

RACE 2

1. Albertano	In a wide-open heat where many of these look similar, this one arrives off a win; trainer-jockey combo is 6-for-13 thus far
6. Steele Money	Not a bad effort in last despite traffic trouble
9. Golden Gulley	Gets major class relief in second start of the season; trainer Capuano 5-for-12 to start the meet

RACE 3 – ON THE TURF

2. Wora	Won a third-level allowance (for the tag) in most recent at Tampa but still has all allowance conditions available
4. Charging Aero	Won versus similar three back
1. Kadri	Been a while since this one was on the turf, but when last seen, he was finishing second behind Mid Day Image, stakes-placed in a turf sprint

RACE 4

4. Grand Pick	Gelded for second start of the campaign and switches back to main track after bland turf try; should sit a good trip off early speed
5. Visual Artist	Speedy sort packed it in readily versus better in last; Ness-Rodriguez combo firing
1. Stacks of Silver	Improved effort in last and gets class relief; Capuano and Maldonado 5-for-8 together

RACE 5 – ON THE TURF

9. St. Neots	Figures to be a handful if drawing in after 3rd-place effort at Keeneland; that heat has produced 4 next out winners and three others to run second
7. Zevon	Last turf outing came when third behind Runaway Storm, now a G3 winner; useful season bow on main track
1. Roundtop	Finished behind subsequent stakes winners in each of first two outings, including G3 winner Neat; Motion 21% bringing horses back off the bench in turf routes
5. Summer Soldier	Dam was stakes-placed on turf, and this colt cost $290k

6. Shero	7yo mare loves to win (16 times and counting) and arrives off a good try when rallying willingly after sluggish beginning; has speed but might be best served reserved off it today; trainer Geralis 8-for-27 first off the claim
4. Royal Seamstress	Making short work of conditions and not concerned about last when eased after getting cooked in early duel; presence of other speed does complicate things, however
7. She’s Bulletproof	Kept decent company at Oaklawn; presence of jockey Conning an interesting twist; it’s her first mount of the year, and she’s won at about a 10% clip in her career

RACE 7 – ON THE TURF

5. Source	Full-brother to G3 winner Masen gets trainer Motion’s go-to rider for season bow
6. Belle of Rights	Didn’t miss by much versus similar in last; one of two to run back won follow-up
3. Doesn’thurttoflirt	Troubled trip in most recent when steadied back to last; still trying through the lane

RACE 8

4. Touchdown Montage	Speed of the speed may benefit from distance cutback
1. Positively Awesome	Was competitive when last seen in 2023
6. Mr. Mox	Has finished in the triple three straight
