Grade 3 winner Warrant to stand at Murmur Farm

From a Maryland Horse Breeders Association release

Warrant, a graded stakes-winning and Grade 1-placed millionaire by Constitution, will stand the upcoming breeding season at Murmur Farm in Darlington, Md. The 6-year-old chestnut son of top-five nationally-ranked stallion Constitution will stand the 2025 season for a fee of $4,500 live foal, payable when the foal stands and nurses.

A homebred for Twin Creeks Farm — who campaigned Constitution — and trained by Brad Cox, Warrant hit the board in 15 of 19 career starts en route to amassing earnings of $1,102,833. He was a stakes winner at distances ranging from 1 1/16 miles to 1 1/2 miles. At 3, Warrant won the Oklahoma Derby-G3 at Remington Park and Texas Derby at Lone Star Park. At 4, he was on the board in four stakes, all graded, including a second in the Santa Anita Handicap-G1. In his final season at 5, he added a victory in the Isaac Murphy Marathon Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Warrant entered stud in Pennsylvania in 2024, covering a reported state-leading 49 mares. His first foals arrive this coming spring.

A half-brother to Barbara Fritchie Stakes-G2 winner Ms Locust Point, Warrant is out of the First Samurai mare Whisper Number. Second dam, stakes winner Santerra, is also the granddam of millionaire Mr. Buff.

“He’s been at the farm maybe three weeks so far and he settled in fine,” said Murmur Farm owner Audrey Murray this week. “The breeders like a change, so we thought he would be a good fit, of course, with his race record and pedigree. Constitution, you know, is doing very well.”
