    Nice article Mike.
My wife read it and wondered who this Stan guy was,
Told her there’s a lot of “Stan’s” down the track.
    Keep up the great work.

I made my first visit to Lincoln Downs in 1958 or 59,they had
a line around the windows where it was written;Must be 21 to cross”.
But I was a big kid and put my first $2 down without a question. I went
there 100s of times before it closed. My first visit to Saratoga a few
years later, big Mike lent me a sports jacket to get in.

My best friend`s older sister`s husband was a track player. When he and I would go to their apartment he always had his head buried in a newspaper. It was the Form, I asked if I could tag along ( age 15 `77) to Charlestown W.V. . I won my first bet on Stammer a 4 1/2 sprinter. T he drive from Alexandria was one of the most exciting days of my life.
