Race #6 Picks: 1-5-8-3

In this optional claiming/starter allowance Race for fillies and mares at about one mile on the turf, #1 Cashing Big Checks (8-1) won her turf debut with a 76 speed figure. Has a bullet work since that win and looks like a top contender. #5 Miss Delicious (9-5) has been facing tough competition in New York and running well. When Steve Klesaris brings a horse to Delaware, he is usually well intentioned. #8 Coconut Beach (5-1) has been running very well and should be passing horses late. #3 Surreal Fantasy (12-1) won nicely against never-two company in last, which was just her second try on the lawn.

Race #7 Picks: 11-4-8-5

In the $50,000 Blue Hen Stakes for Delaware Bred or Certified 2YO fillies at 5 ½ furlongs, #11 Tappin Josie (4-1) got off a little slow in last and was rushed to the front. This may have lost her a half-length in the stretch and she was passed by Bound for Destiny.  We think if she gets a better start and isn’t rushed, she will be able to hold on for the win. #4 Bound Destiny (3-1) has won two straight including a win from just off the pace in last. Had a slow maintenance work last week to keep her sharp. This filly is very game and is a top contender.  #8 Chickieness (8-1) showed improvement in her second try running a 60 speed figure. Has been working very well and looks very sharp. Could pull an upset in this event. #5 Titoschangedmyluck (8-1) won the $150,000 Keswick Stakes for Virginia-breds in last try. Can throw out previous race when she lost her rider. She fits well here and should get a piece of the action.

Race #8 Picks: 6-7-4-1
