Race 8 – Grade I Alfred G. Vanderbilt Handicap

1. #4 Jackie’s Warrior (1-5) – Not really a bettor’s race with this buzzsaw colt, but barring a poor break or off race, this is still the clear best even with two to his inside who have chances

2. #3 Ny Traffic (6-1) – The sprinting races have actually been very consistent and this is one that is proven around one turn and seems like the best competition to Jackie’s Warrior

3. #2 Willy Boi (8-1) – Since moving to Jorge Delgado’s barn, this gelding has won three straight and appears primed for another big effort in this one

4. #6 Doc Amster (20-1) – Hasn’t stepped up in class this much yet, but has plenty of speed and can certainly be competitive here if he is able to break early with Jackie’s Warrior

Race 9 – Grade II Jim Dandy Stakes

1. #2 Epicenter (3-2) – Don’t love the value, but in a small field at this distance this may be the one with the right running style as long as Rosario keeps him closer than in the Preakness

2. #4 Early Voting (8-5) – This Chad Brown trainee has been hugely impressive including a Preakness victory where he was up on the pace and will need a similar trip to win here

3. #5 Zandon (2-1) – Hasn’t run since the Derby, but the other Brown trainee may end up as his best Travers entry, will need a pace duel to close and have winning chances here

4. #3 Tawny Port (8-1) – A notch below the others right now, but has improved and won the Ohio Derby as the favorite last month, so has enough class to contend

Race 11 – Clm 25000

1. #3 Big Agenda (7-2) – This gelding hits the board at a solid clip and has been competitive among this class, should be good value and is due for a win with this jockey trainer combo

2. #9 Healing (5-2) – A bit classier than the others in here, recently winning an allowance at Keeneland and solid at this distance so a clear top contender

3. #7 Jack the Cat (4-1) – Likes to rate, and with Rosario in the irons this could be one to build off of a nice closing kick last time if there is some pace in here

4. #1 The Last Zip (5-1) – Won here in this company last year, and had his best effort of late for Joe Sharp first off the claim, so can be competitive with a repeat of that try here
