In Spa Selections, Saratoga correspondent Joseph Aiello provides Saratoga picks for a handful of key races at Saratoga, including all of the exciting stakes action!

Follow along all meet with all the exciting action (and good betting opportunities)!

Race 4 – Grade II Honorable Miss Handicap

1. #2 Bella Sofia (1-2) – In a small field like this, going with the best runner at the moment seems to be the play, with Nest and Clairiere recently showing their class in four horse fields

2. #4 Kimari (4-1) – Joel Rosario might be able to keep this mare close enough for a strong finish, as she has run well off the layoff on the dirt and is sneaky here

3. #1 Frank’s Rockette (2-1) – Amadevil has been very consistent against lesser competition, but this mare challenged Bella Sofia last time and has better top end races

Race 5 – Alw 115000n1x

1. #2 Forwardly (5-2) – After winning four straight stakes races with Chad Brown at Monmouth on Saturday, Flavien Prat looks for his first win with him this meet and has a great chance here

2. #6 Mooney Love (2-1) – The most obvious challenger to Forwardly who has the always strong Joel Rosario on the turf, and should be closing late here

3. #1 Neotropic (8-1) – It is clear that this gelding by Tapit is looking for more distance, and with a great distance rider in Jose Ortiz, should be closing here at a nice price

4. #5 Dante’s Fire (5-1) – Not as much class as Jarreau, but one that can be competitive is Saez keeps him close enough throughout to the likely leader Curbstone

Race 9 – OC 80000n3x

1. #7 Evvie Jets (6-1) – Put in some good efforts at Belmont against similar company, and should be a good price here plus has won at Saratoga and strong at the distance

2. #1 High Opinion (7-5) – The most likely winner purely based off of a class perspective, but might prefer going a big further than eight furlongs, although still good enough to win here

3. #5 Messidor (2-1) – Drops from a stakes race where she finished a close fourth, but hasn’t run her best at this distance and may need a bit more pace than what is here to close into

4. #4 Amalfi Princess (4-1) – Has some decent back-class despite being inconsistent, but her race last time out was very strong and can put her in the mix with these

Race 10 – Maiden 105k

1. #3 Liquidity Provider (4-1) – This Klaravich and Brown filly doesn’t enter as one of their most highly regarded, but still can win against a group with plenty of questions first time out

2. #6 Alessia (8-1) – Only lost by two last time with a solid speed figure, and this filly by Jess’s Dream can run well here if she is positioned a bit more forward than last time

3. #8 Dover Dreams (12-1) – Chad Brown gave up on this one after her second start, but finishing second to Nest in her September maiden is looking much better now

4. #2 Adam’s Angel (7-2) – Was a distant second last time, but with a price tag of over one million as a yearling, this filly by Into Mischief should have more to build on here
