In the Saturday night opener, a three-turn allowance for older runners, #2 Savatiano (5-2) draws inside his main rivals following a pair of fourth-place efforts and looks primed for first win of the season for trainer Tina Malgawini-Malwing. #6 Make Way (7-2) graduated against maiden special weight company last out for trainer Anthony Farrior and tackles winners for first time here. #3 Charging Lion (3-1) was solid third last out for trainer Brandon Kulp and looks to improve on that effort in this spot. #4 Mr. Hoover (5-1) was also fourth in each of last two tries and seeks first win in eight tries this year for trainer Flint Stites.

In this two-turn event for state-bred maiden $15,000 claimers, #6 Golden Mettle (2-1) seeks first win in five tries this year and 17 overall for owner-trainer Kathleen Hamlin who is also seeking first career score. #5 Sugar Lips (9-5) is winless in three tries this year and 11 overall but could prevail here for trainer John A. Casey. #4 Quiet Justice (5-1) makes second start at the level after two tries against maiden special weight foes for trainer Ronney Brown. #8 Duke of Cork (6-1) was fifth in career debut last out for trainer Tim Grams and could improve off that effort.

In this three-turn event for $5,000 claimers, #1 Lil Mr. Matt (8-5) won two back and gets favorable inside draw here and gets nod to atone for fifth-place effort last out for owner-trainer Tim Collins. #4 Feisty and Sassy (2-1) also gets chance to atone for sixth-place finish last out for owner-trainer Kevin Joy and merits respect here. #6 Loulovestheriver (4-1) was decent fourth last out for owner-trainer Chris Keller and looms surprise prospect. #7 Holiday Avenue (5-1) graduated against maiden claimers three back and could complete several gimmicks here at a decent price for trainer Ronney Brown.

In this interesting one-turn event for $15,000 claimers, #5 Juba’s House (2-1) gets favorable outside draw for this event and gets nod for mild upset for trainer John A. Casey. #4 Windsor’s Play (8-5) looms the tepid favorite here for owner-breeder-trainer James W. Casey and merits respect here. #3 Triple Gala (9-2) can atone for latest for trainer Anthony Lucas and deserves consideration at a decent price. #2 Strolling Through (5-1) also has chance to complete several gimmicks at generous price for trainer Analisa Larrosa.

RACE 5

In this one-turn maiden special weight event for state-bred males, #7 Cats Diamond Boy (9-2) has been genuine hit or miss prospect of late and arrives off sharp second-place effort for trainer Ricardo Rangel. #8 Entry Time (5-2) makes belated seasonal debut off 14-month respite for owner-breeder-trainer John McKee. #5 Buddy Buddy (4-1) rebounded from mishap two back to finish solid second last out for owner-trainer Tim Collins and merits respect here. #9 Bertram Flight (10-1) makes career debut off quartet of promising recent works for trainer Angelo Jackson.

In this interesting, intriguing, rare, three-turn allowance/optional $15,000 claiming event for state-bred older runners, #3 My Boy Clyde (7-2) has been second in each of last two for trainer Javier Contreras and owner-breeder O’Sullivan Farms and gets nod for mild upset in competitive group. #2 Opera Nite (2-1) won three back to kick off campaign and was second in 2019 edition of West Virginia Breeders’ Classic for trainer Jeff Runco. #1 Charitable Spenny (5-2) was solid second last out and gets favorable inside draw for trainer Linda Dohlinger-Stehr and merits respect here. #7 Buff’s Eye View (3-1) has won last two against claimers and was runner up in WVBC Classic in 2020 for trainer David Walters.

In this interesting and competitive, one-turn allowance for state-bred fillies and mares, #8 Snowy Juba Cat (7-2) makes her seasonal debut off a series of very sharp works for trainer Curtis Bass and gets favorable outside draw for this event. #1 Full Moon Lover (2-1) graduated last out for trainer Ronney Brown and looms the tepid favorite if she can overcome tricky rail draw. #4 Castle Lights (5-1) seeks first win in sixth outing this year for owner-breeder-trainer James W. Casey. #5 Dixie Yodeler (9-2) has was sharp second at this level after graduating at first asking for trainer Ollie Figgins III and certainly merits respect here.

In the Saturday night finale, a two-turn event for $5,000 claiming fillies and mares, #2 Mae Sai Princess (8-1) seeks first win in nine tries this year but favorable inside draw could provide keys for mild surprise for trainer Keith Brown. #8 Take Me Home (5-2) was solid third two back and looks to atone for latest outing for trainer Crystal Pickett. #10 Mortal Storm (9-5) won last and looks to be solid favorite here despite outside draw for owner-trainer Kevin Joy. #5 Barbsgray Lion (6-1) seeks first win in eight tries this year for owner-trainer Manolo Mangual.
