RACE 1

3-1-4-5

In the opening race on the Saturday night card, a two-turn maiden special weight event for state-bred older runners, #3 Jackson Man (1-1) looks poised to finally garner his diploma in career start number 11 for trainer Glenn Harrison of Mean Bean fame. #1 Quid Pro Quo (7-5) was good third in seasonal debut and has been in the money four times in five lifetime tries to date for trainer Ronney Brown. #4 Golden Mettle (6-1) is hoping the 13th time is the charm for trainer Kathleen Hamlin who is also in quest of her first career winner. #5 Small Paw (10-1) makes career debut off series of modest works for owner-trainer Angelo Jackson.

RACE 2

7-5-3-4

In this one-turn dash for claiming fillies and mares that caps the early daily double, #7 Meet Ms Bobbi Rae (3-1) gets favorable outside draw for trainer Ollie Figgins IIII of Dance to Bristol fame and gets the nod to prevail in this spot. #5 Not for Gold (5-2) appears primed for good effort here for trainer Keith Brown. #3 Miss Morgantown (2-1) looms the tepid post-time choice here for trainer Ronney Brown and merits respect. #4 La Rufina (4-1) generally fires at this distance and cannot be overlooked in this contentious affair.

RACE 3

1-3-4-5

In this two-turn event for claimers, #1 Silver and Blues (3-5) gets favorable inside draw and looks ready to score as the odds-on choice here. #3 Magnificent Rocket (5-1) should be a factor late and could forge mild upset for trainer Robert Lester. #4 Nicky D (9-2) arrives with upset potential for trainer Jamey Johnson. #5 Sterling Ariel (15-1) could round out several gimmicks at a generous price for trainer Mike Jones, Jr.

RACE 4

3-4-7-8

In this two-turn event for $5,000 claimers, #3 Volnay (5-2) graduated here against maiden claimers last summer and returns after three tries at Laurel Park for trainer Dale Capuano. #4 Tiz Michelle’s Way (4-1) makes seasonal debut for trainer Chris Keller and could forge mild upset here. #7 Hard Chant (7-2) also makes seasonal debut for trainer Irving Velez and merits respect. #8 Callinghercollins (3-1) could find favorite’s role despite outside draw for trainer Jeff Runco.

RACE 5

4-5-6-2

In this two-turn event for $10,000 claimers, #4 Never Compromise (7-5) posted sharp score in seasonal debut for trainer Anthony Farrior and looks set to repeat here as the solid choice. #5 Moss Boss (5-2) exits allowance company in seasonal debut and merits respect here for trainer Kevin Joy. #6 Bock (8-1) makes seasonal and local debut for trainer Amy Albright after five good efforts at Penn National that featured a pair of wins. #2 Rrace Day Warrior (5-1) has been third each of last three tries and could improve on those outings here for trainer M. Joanna Boggs.

RACE 6

1-2-5-6

In this two-turn event for $5,000 claiming fillies and mares, #1 Courageous Grace (5-2) was solid second in seasonal debut and looks poised for mild upset in this spot with favorable rail draw for trainer Saul Ramirez. #2 Dinner At Five (8-5) makes seasonal debut for trainer Ronney Brown but likely assumes the favorite’s role here. #5 China Cat (4-1) seeks to atone for seasonal bow and merits respect for trainer Anthony Farrior. #6 Lady Kaza (9-2) was good third in seasonal debut for trainer Kevin Joy and could forge mild upset here.

  • A few minutes with: Jack Fisher
Jack Fisher is a Hall of Famer and the winningest trainer in American steeplechasing — but maybe not someone you know much about.

RACE 7

5-2-3-7

In this competitive, two-turn allowance/optional $25,000 claiming event for older runners, #5 Command the Cat (3-1) looks poised to regain his winning ways in this spot for owner-breeder-trainer John McKee. #2 Boaster (4-1) looms capable of forging a mild upset with his patented late kick for trainer Jeff Runco. #3 Rookie Salsa (5-2) posted a sharp two-length score in his local debut last out for trainer Claudio Gonzalez and will likely be solid favorite in this spot. #7 Another Victory (7-2) makes first start off the claim for trainer Ronney Brown and certainly merits respect in this condition at this distance.

RACE 8

3-4-6-5

In this two-turn event for state-bred older runners, #3 River Warrior RVF (3-1) gets the nod in this wide-open event and marks rare occasion when Runco-Bocachica tandem will not be the post time choice. #4 Master This (7-5) ended previous campaign by taking his last two starts for trainer Dale Capuano and looms the favorite despite modest respite. #6 Hot Fudge Sonde (7-2) won twice and was second twice in four starts last year for trainer Jamey Johnson and owner Mark Russell of Russell Road fame and could forge mild surprise here. #5 Hopping Henry (6-1) is still looking to regain freshman form for owner-breeder-trainer Michael Sterling.

RACE 9

5-3-6-9

In the Saturday night finale, a two-turn event for $4,000 claimers, #5 Perfetto (9-2) was solid second in seasonal debut and looks set to attain 10th career score for trainer Jami Poole. #3 Kichiro (7-5) looms the potential odds-on favorite here for trainer Irving Velez and merits respect in this spot. #6 Poppy’s Two Step (5-1) makes seasonal debut for trainer Michael Sandoval and could forge mild surprise. #9 Late Breaking News (4-1) deserves a look despite outside post draw for trainer Crystal Pickett.

Let’s hope we can do better than yesterday……..seems so far away….

1st.I’m rooting for Ms Hamlin but putting the money on Mr Brown to take this down.

2nd.Since I’m rooting for young ladies,I think Ms Calvert could convert for the first time in 3 years.

3rd.”Magnificent Rocket”could make Laster get his firster this year in here.

I will beat”Kichiro”with my longshot of the night,
put all your money on “Banker’s Island” who
