Since this one ran for $16,000 in his second start, he can waive the claiming tag here, making it a protected spot… The speedy #2 Grandfire (9-2) will look to control this one from the front and should be able to do that… #4 Mongolian Hero (4-1) just missed last time out on the turf, and in his last two-turn dirt try, he led late before settling for second… Tough to disregard the Ness-Silvera combo, which means you’ll want #1 Mine Not Mine (7-2) on the ticket somewhere despite a lackluster outing last time versus better. |
| Race 6 | 2-1-3-5 | You wouldn’t be wrong to point out that #2 Jw’strickymischief (15-1) never wins (3-for-40). In fact, he hasn’t won since 2018, more than 30 months ago. But that last effort — when second at 30-1 — was a huge one. The winner, Tringale, turned right around and won a second-level allowance easily, and the show horse returned to win, as well. A repeat of that would make this one a winner today, and trainer Lupe Guerrero has given him time to recover from his stellar effort last time… #1 First Citizen (5-2) should appreciate getting back to a bit easier group than he saw last time, but he has lost against similar previously… #3 Screen Saver (4-1) enters off a win and makes his second start in the Lake barn… #5 Mr. Roundtree (7-2) also enters off a win, albeit two months ago. He should be running late… |
