Delaware Park has an eight-race card on tap for Thursday, and the track has said that the main track is sloppy and they are off the turf. Some horses to watch:

Race 8 – Starter allowance

• Three-year-olds and up that have started for a claiming price of $25,000 or less and have never won a race other than maiden or claiming or which have never won four races will go a mile on the main track.
• The good news is that #2 Brighton Lane (2-1) has kept better company than this, having won one allowance race and run some good races in two-other-than company. The bad news is that he never wins — he’s a six-year-old who’s just 3-for-37 — and has failed repeatedly at the second allowance level. He’s also finished second or third 18 times in his career, suggesting he might be more enticing underneath. Victor Carrasco will ride for Kenny Decker.
• The lightly raced #7 Aspect (3-1) has one achievement most of his rivals do not: he has won a first-level allowance. This Tim Ritchey trainee blitzed a field of first allowance foes by over five lengths last time out at Delaware Park at this distance, a win that ran his Delaware Park record to 4:2-1-1. He’ll make his third start of the season here and get Alex Cintron in the irons. The only cause for concern is that the only poor race he’s run in his six-race career came over a sloppy surface, that at Laurel in December, but it appears there may have been other issues that day, as well, since he then didn’t race for five months. Ritchey had entered this one as a main-track-only entrant in a second-level allowance the other day, but the race remained on the grass.
