Delaware Park has an eight-race card on tap for Thursday, with the finale for Arabians. Some horses to watch: 

Race 4 – Maiden special weight 

• Maidens three years old and up will go six furlongs on the main track.
• First-timers may have the edge in this contest, and the most intriguing of those is #1 Chitown (5-2), who’ll rate a big shot as long as he manages the gate. The ridgling son of Tiznow is set to make his debut here for Colts Neck Stables and trainer Jorge Duarte, who is two-for-five with horse making their debut in maiden special company. This one is out of the Vindication mare Vindy City — a stakes winner sprinting as a sophomore who has produced two winners to date — and cost $400,000 at auction. Jevian Toledo is up, and he is 7-for-20 on Duarte trainees in the last two months. They’ll have to contend with some interesting runners, including a pair for trainer Jose Camejo, whose seven runners to date at Delaware all have finished one-two.

Race 5 – Allowance 

• Fillies and mares three years old and up will go five furlongs on the turf in a first-level allowance.
• Speaking of Jose Camejo, he’s enjoyed good success of late with runners owned by Brittlyn Stable, particularly running them on the turf, including The Very One winner Wild About Star and recent Laurel course record-setter Minit to Stardom. He’ll have another chance here with #8 Community Watch (4-1). This one has a win from four career starts, three on the turf, having broken her maiden last October at Laurel going a mile over soft ground. Here she’ll try a sprint distance for the first time while receiving Lasix for just the second in what is also her first try in Camejo’s barn and first in four months. Look for an improved effort here.

Arabian Watch

Thanks to Stephanie Ruff and Arabian Finish Line for giving us insights to the Arabian racing at Delaware Park.

Today’s Arabian race has an evenly matched field. Royal Moonlight, coming off a maiden win, could easily be the favorite. From Pinewood Stables and Simon Hobson comes a good entry with RB Hocus Pocus as a strong contender. The talented mare Tiffanys Dream gets leading jockey Carol Cedeno and could easily get the win.
