#6 Market King (30-1)

Why he COULD win the Preakness: Need to put his most recent effort (11th by 37-lengths) out of your mind. Has sprinter speed to grab the early lead and hope that the other jocks won’t challenge him. If the Old Hilltop dirt oval “speed favoring” reputation rears its ugly head, then maybe a 58-year-old jockey can steal the race for his 83-year-old trainer, giving him a record-tying 7th Preakness victory. Crazier things have happened… a 65-1 longshot won the KY Derby.

Why he SHOULD NOT be able to win the Preakness: Still eligible for non-winners of 2 races lifetime. That last loss came on a speed favoring surface so he had no excuses. His career best speed figure is woefully much lower than his rivals.
