From a Charles Town release
Because of dangerously high winds moving through the region that are expected to continue into the evening, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races has canceled live racing for Friday night, March 2.
Charles Town will remain open for simulcasting as scheduled with the resumption of live racing slated for Saturday, March 3.
Winds during the day in Charles Town are expected to blow between 35 and 50 miles per hour, with occasional gusts above 60. They are expected to calm — but only slightly — during the evening, with gusts still topping 40 miles per hour.

03rd Mar 2018Perhaps Charles Town management should consider running Friday’s card on Sunday afternoon. Not only would they not lose an entire card but it would give patrons a good chance to enjoy a beautiful afternoon. Daytime racing gives people who can not drive at night or need to be home early and opportunity to see live racing. I wish this track would follow Laurel’s lead and give the owners, jockeys, and all a chance to earn a living.
