From a Maryland Jockey Club

Oneil Doran was the big winner in The Maryland Jockey Club’s Handicapping Tournament at Laurel Saturday, earning entry into the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge Oct. 30-31.

Doran, from Owings Mills, won after turning his $200 bankroll into $2,400. Doran also earned prize money of $800.

Finishing second and earning entry into The Big One handicapping tournament at Laurel was William Wirth, who finished with a $1,800.20 bankroll and $2,320 in prize money, while third-place finisher Debi Tucker finished with a $1,274 bankroll, $1,160 in prize money and entry to the 2016 Coast Casinos Horseplayer World Series in Las Vegas.

Those earning $248 in prize money were Mark Blair, Mark Hagenbuch, Joseph Wolford, Roger Kurrus, Vernon Allinson, Kenneth McHargue and Andrew Moxam.
