On Wednesday, Maryland-bred Daring Dancer just got up at the wire to win the G2 Lake George at the Spa, the first Midlantic-bred to win a Spa stake this year.  And on Thursday:

Pennsylvania-bred speedster Favorite Tale is a lukewarm 5-2 favorite in the Quick Call Stakes.  The 5 1/2 furlong turf test for sophomores has drawn a field of seven.  Paul Conaway bred the son of Tale of the Cat-Tricky Elaine, by Grindstone.  Guadalupe Preciado trains the gelding, who has four wins in seven tries, for PJG Stable.

If you like your racing over jumps, rejoice: the lid-lifting Jonathan Kiser Novice Stakes — 2 1/16 miles on the turf — includes no fewer than three Midlantic-breds: Kingdom (MD), Tempt Me Alex (PA), and Top Striker (MD).
