Two barns at Parx Racing are under quarantine after a horse stabled in Barn 21 tested positive for equine herpesvirus, The Blood-Horse has reported (here).

Barn 21 and Barn 34 are both under quarantine as a result of the case; no horses from either barn may train or race.  At this time, no other horses have tested positive for EHV-1, though further tests are underway.

Parx will follow customary procedures, meaning that horses cannot leave or enter the grounds.  Shippers already entered for the weekend’s cards can scratch without penalty, and two restricted stakes slated for the weekend will be run instead on December 28.
